Postcards

The postcards series was inspired by the idea  of what one would say to a loved one that they lost if all they had was the back of a postcard to write it. I lost someone a few years ago and I had never felt so alone. To create this series, I interviewed many people about their experiences with loss and grief. I had everyone that I interviewed bring an object that they associated with the person that they lost or the time that they lost that person. It was from the pictures of these objects that I created the imagery on the postcards. This series is important to me because it was cathartic for me to create and it opened my eyes to the fact that everyone experiences grief in their own way but everyone experiences it. After I completed this series, I didn't feel as alone in the world. The story that these postcards create bring me comfort.
